AMS Planning & Research worked with a team of consultants led by Hammel Green and Abrahamson Architects (HGA) to conduct a feasibility study for a new performing arts facility at Cal State Northridge located in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley. As envisioned by the University's president and the Dean of the College of Arts, Media and Communications, the new facility will become the ''cultural center of the Valley'' and will be the primary bridge between the university and the surrounding community.

AMS's research included a market analysis of the Valley's population, interviews with prospective facility users, university administration and key community leaders, and an assessment of existing and planned cultural facilities in the region. HGA architects determined the building program, assessed possible sites and estimated project costs. Once the facility was defined, AMS developed recommendations of management structures and forecast operating costs.

The proposed 1,700-seat, $125 million performing arts center project is due to begin construction in 2008, with a 2010 completion date.
