Recognizing the power of arts centers to engage communities in positive ways and the need for evidence of both efficient and effective operations, AMS has worked with literally hundreds of North America's theaters and performing arts centers to explore issues of common attention, develop data to benchmark operations, learn about audiences and identify was to better serve our communities.

Over the past several years, we have worked closely with more than two dozen of the top Performing Arts Centers across North America and around the world to develop PAC Stats, a standard-setting benchmarking and performance measurement tool that serves Board and staff in planning, operations, performance measurement and business improvement.

What you do is important and difficult; we can help you do it better.

PAC Stats helps you proactively manage your performing arts venue, efficiently and effectively. Data are gathered and displayed that illustrate industry-wide trends and operating performance; revealing opportunities for operational improvement. PAC Stats is also valuable for planning for new or expanded facilities by providing benchmarks, understanding what drives costs and impacts expenses, and forecasting operations.

PAC Stats participants receive detailed, multi-year analyses that summarize revenue, expenses, utilization and other critical operating data in an easy-to-understand, three-volume report. CEOs and CFOs are also invited to participate in an annual webinar to explore with their colleagues and the AMS team the implications of the data. AMS's team of professional consultants is always available to help interpret the data.

Data are collected using a web-based survey.  Confidentiality is assured by AMS and data are not communicated in any form without permission of participating centers.

Timeline
  • The PAC Stats survey is distributed each year in October.
  • Data are submitted within 60 days from the end of the fiscal year (but no later than the end of February).
  • A draft report is issued in March for review by participating centers.
  • Regional meetings are held in late spring.
  • Final reports are issued in July.
Annual Fee
The annual fee is based on your current operating budget. As the number and diversity of participating centers grows additional analysis groups will be developed. (For example, Centers on university campuses, Centers operating as government departments, etc.)  Subscriptions are renewable annually and invoiced twice per year. Contact us to learn more about the annual fee for your organization.
