Joshua Borenstein

Joshua Borenstein is a Project Manager with AMS in its Fairfield, Connecticut office.  His project experience includes feasibility studies and new facility operating plans for Signature Theatre Company in New York City, Writers' Theatre in Glencoe, Illinois, Kidspace Children's Museum in Pasadena, California and the Town of Killington, Vermont.  Josh's strategic planning clients include Americans for the Arts, the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism, the DC Commission on Arts and Humanities and the Miami Children's Museum and he has conducted benchmarking studies for the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene, Oregon and the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg, Florida.
 
Prior to joining AMS, Josh was at Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut, most recently as its Associate Managing Director.  In this capacity, Josh was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization, including human resources, finance, contract negotiations, labor relations and facilities.  Additionally, he worked on Long Wharf's building program for a new facility in downtown New Haven.  Josh also served as its Interim Managing Director, leading the organization during a critical transition.
 
Prior to Long Wharf, Josh was at the Huntington Theatre Company in Boston through Theatre Communication Group's "New Generations:  Mentoring the Leaders of Tomorrow" program.  In this role, he worked on a variety of strategic planning projects, including managing the logistics of the construction of the Huntington's Calderwood Pavilion.  Josh also served in various roles at Yale Repertory Theatre in New Haven and at Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, Rhode Island.  While at Trinity Rep, Josh began a partnership between the theatre and a children's psychiatric hospital.
 
Josh has been a guest lecturer at Yale University and at Boston University.  He also served as Board President and as Treasurer of the Summer Cabaret at Yale as well as a community grant reviewer for the Community Foundation of Greater New Haven.
 
Josh earned a Master of Fine Arts in theatre management from the Yale School of Drama and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in classical civilization from Wesleyan University.
